I have been experiencing weird connection issues.
First some background:
MBP 15" pre-2008. 4gb ram. Did not upgrade to Snow Leopard. All updates are current (Airport v. 5.5.1). 500 gb Time Machine. 20" iMac wired to Time Machine. Optimum Cable internet.

All was working fine until....
I replaced the 15" lcd panel in the MBP. I have verified that all the parts are replaced correctly and are seated correctly even with two extra screws.

The MBP did not connect either through a wired or wireless connection. After about the first 3 reboots I received requests to permit krb5kdc and config to allow incoming. I permitted the connection. Had the internet at home finally and was happy. Left home went to another wireless environment, no problemo! Went home again because I cant leave enough alone and then whamo, no internet either wired or wireless. Rebooted a billion times and restarted both Time Machine and the modem. Finally figured on a manual setting for Config IPv4 and copied the settings from my desktop. That permitted only a wired ethernet connection. After 5+ hours still no wireless only on a wired ethernet connection. Then I realized that my Time Machine now doesn't recognize my MBP for backups. How do I get out of this. Help!!

Thank you
Don Solimene

PS. I am not at home and I am currently on a wireless internet typing this post. I had to reset the settings in Network Pane to Automatically Using DHCP. At home Airport states Static IP with limited connectivity.
