Internet Connection On Iphone 2g

Hey everyone,

Im new to this site, and the reason that i joined, is because the internet connection on my iphone is very weak...

My brother has the ipod touch, and his touch can see many more wifi addresses than i can on my iphone, and I'm wondering if there is a problem with my iphone, or if the ipod touch just has a better receiving thingy than the iphone. If there isnt a problem with my iphone, can anyone tell me how to make it so that it has better reception?

The reason why im asking this, is because I've unlocked my iphone 2g so that i can use it as a go phone. So being a go phone, it doesn't have a data plan which means that i cant use edge to go on safari and things like that.

The 2.5G (technically not 2G) doesn't have as good reception as the newer iPhones, and iPod Touches since it has an aluminum back. The transmission/reception all occurs through the black plastic on the bottom, and as a result it isn't as good. They have boosters, Griffin I think sells one, but all they are are large cases with an antenna, and supposedly don't work very well.
