A friend recently upgraded his macbook to snow leopard.....since then he's having trouble with his internet connection and I could use some suggestions to help him.
On his computer, Skype works fine but firefox and safari wont connect, nor does his email (apple's Mail program) manage to connect to the internet......but as I said, he can use Skype. He's also taken the macbook to 3 other locations (friends house where he couldn't connect, and a starbucks where he couldn't connect.... but he was able to successfully connect once at a Barnes and Noble)
They have an airport wifi router where he lives and the other Mac in the house is working fine with it.
He's compared his network preferences to those on the Mac that's working and settings seem to be the same.
The fact that he can use Skype on his macbook without any problem but email and browsers wont connect seems strange to me.
Anybody have any troubleshooting suggestions?
