Hi, I hope I'm posting this in the right area. So, I'm a new mac user, since I've recently got a 13-inch MBP, base model. I use ADSL internet, using a D-Link 500B modem and then sharing the connection between 2 computers (this Mac and a Windows XP desktop), using an Encore switch. Question is: when I download something, no matter if via browser, torrent or whatever, it consumes all the bandwidth, going full-speed, making it impossible to do anything else. When I was using Windows, the download rate would automatically drop if I wanted to browse the web and etc, dividing between the applications. I had the same problem when I was using Linux. I thought it could be the QoS settings, which are already activated in my router, so I don't know what's left. What could it be?
Thanks in advance.
