What is the minimum internet connection speed to achieve a high quality picture using slingbox and eyetv, etc?

i did a CNET speed test, and i came out with 641 Kbps.. i do have cable and my ISP is charter communications.

I want to be able to watch TV on my macbook (2.4 ghz, 2 gb ram) but i am not sure if my internet connection will cut it...


and for the record, what is the best "thing" out there that will allow me to watch TV on my macbook?
