Internet Connectivity Issue

I have an internet connectivity issue that is really weird. Wireless internet through my MacBook at my apartment has been extremely slow (500b/sec download speed) but my iPhone connects to my apartment wireless internet at blazing speed. My MacBook connects to wifi elsewhere and works just fine, really fast. So I have no idea what the source of my problem is...my router, my macbook, or me just missing something simple. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

Do you have a simultaneous dual-band router, and if so, what frequency are you connecting on?
