I have a 3 mbps cable broadband connection. I have an AEBS running on mixed mode wireless b/g/n. I have a vista computer which is connected with the 802.11 g and a Macbook on 802.11 n @ 2.4 Ghz. I frequently transfer files from one computer to another. The maximum speed I get is around 700 kbps and I am not complaining. The only problem is whenever I do a file transfer my internet goes extremely slow really slow...around 10-15 kbps MAX!! It takes about a full minute to load google some times.

The signal on my desktop is ~-50 noise: -90
The signal on my laptop is ~-28 noise: -96

I don't understand what's wrong!

Well that doesn't seem to help. I have no problem with the general speed of the internet...only the speed I get when I am doing file transfers!
