Internet free network for Xbox.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I am unsure where to post. I have a 2007 Mac with OSX 10.5.8. I run connect360 on it and watch movies from a external HD on my Xbox 360.
I am currently spending a month with no internet in my home but still want to wireless stream movies.

I've made my Mac a password free hotspot and the Xbox can see it but won't connect. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot? Could I just run a Ethernet cord between the two?

You need some kind of router for both of the devices to connect to.

Thanks. I feel a little slow for not thinking of that. I have a old airport express I can plug in.
