There was a thread for Snow Leopard regarding DNS sues that arose from 10.6.6 onward, fixed by a patch that replaced key DNS files in /usr/bin to the working 10.6.5 versions. Worked great through 10.6.8, but I have the same terrible internet lags for random sites despite every trick listed in these forums.

Anyone tried applying the old patch in 10.7 - obviously may mess up your computer - but maybe not.

Maybe

Backed up my boot drive and ran the "down"-dater (opposite of updater?) from the thread - rebooted, fixed permissions, and everything seems to work without the usual delays for some sites. I will post back if any complications arise. This is very lame. There are a lot of other threads with similar issues.

Good so far

Absolutely no problems with lightening fast internet back. Anyone with otherwise unfixable poor internet performance due to erratic loading of websites should look at the DNSResponder replacements from the original thread.
