I saw a recomendation on another thread for Nicecast and was wondering if anyone else new of software to set up an internet radio station.

Shoutcast is better, it runs in a terminal in OSX and is also available for Windows/*nix. Music is streamed to the server from software like xmms or winamp plugins. These are the servers used to provide the radio stations on itunes and many many more.
