Internet sharing doesn't work

Hello guys;
I live in college dorm and using ethernet via thunderbolt.I want to share my internet connection via wifi but when i try to share it says "Wi-Fi automatically 169...with the assigned IP address and can not connect to the Internet ."When i connect my phone to wifi,it has no internet connection.How can i solve this?And sorry for my bad english btw
