Hi everyone,
Glad to have found this forum, hopefully someone has a good software recommendation for me!
Disclaimer: OSX neophyte
I would like to use my Mac Mini as a NAT box, serving up the Internet to my internal network. I've purchased the USB network adapter from the Apple store, have connected it to the mini, and have downloaded some drivers online. The internet sharing aspect works beautifully (took no longer than a few seconds through the sharing panel).
The problem is the firewall... The OS X firewall interface is pretty limited, and doesn't allow host-based control.
For example, I want to deny access to certain ports to certain IPs on the internal network (ex, block them on the internal interface (ETH2) at the Mac Mini).
I also for example run an FTP server on the machine, that should only be accessible to a particular IP on the internet, on the external interface to the mini.
Is anyone familiar with some firewall software that has this level of flexibility? As good counterexample, Comodo firewall for Windows is a fantastic piece of software. IF there were something analogous on OS X it would be fantastic.
Thanks!
Alex
