Internet sharing from Macbook Pro

I am currently using a 3G modem to access an internet connection. I want to turn my macbook into a hotspot so I can connect my phone and other computer in my house. I have followed all of the instructions of going into system preferences and internet sharing. My laptop is showing up in my iPhone and on my PC and prompts for the password but can never make the connection.

Any tips/advice?

A Macbook Pro is a poor replacement for a router. It works in very close proximity but the antenna is not meant to be used that way so it performs poorly.
