Hi
In my weekend house the only available internet connection is through my mobile phone. It behaves as a wi-fi hotspot. My macbook pro running 10.6.8 connects to it flawlessly.
The problems started when I needed to provide an internet connection to another computer which does not have wifi, only ethernet. I tried to use the "internet sharing" feature of the Mac, airport input, ethernet output. After playing with available parameters on the mac and on the other computer without success, I noticed that when the "internet sharing" flag is ON (System Preferences->sharing->internet sharing) the mac connection to the internet drops. There are no hints of the event, other than not being able to reach the internet. This happens even when the ethernet cable to the other computer is disconnected.
Anyone can help?
