I have an iMac and a MacBook. The way I've always accessed the internet is through ethernet for the iMac, and wireless for the MacBook (via internet sharing from the iMac through Airport).

This has worked fine with the cable modem we had. We recently switched to DSL and while the connection is fine on the iMac (just as good as with the cable set up), when trying to access the internet wireless from the MacBook, via the iMac... the connection is reaaallly slow.

I hope this makes sense. I was hoping someone could enlighten me on why the wireless connection quality has changed so much since switching from cable to dsl (and if it's possible to fix). Thanks.

What is the downspeed difference between the cable that you had and the DSL that you are now using? And why don't you just get a router and use that instead of going through the iMac's airport card?

Well, it was working perfectly fine going through the iMac's airport card before we switched to DSL.

The internet is virtually unusable right now with the Macbook.
