Hey, so in my dorm room, I always use Internet Sharing in Leopard to use my iPod touch with Wifi. However, I am having a couple problems with it.
First, it always drops out after awhile, sometimes it'll work for hours, sometimes much less. But at some point, despite still being connected to the network, I stop getting any Internet, or even local connections (such as with Remote.app). Going to the computer and turning Internet Sharing off and on is the only way to get it working again. Similarly, most of the time when I start my Macbook up, the option to turn on Internet Sharing is checked, but it is not actually on (the AirPort icon doesn't show the icon that shows while sharing).
Also, I've tried to connect to the wireless using my friends' Vista computers, but they're only able to connect when encryption is off. For the record, I'm using 40-bit encryption, with a 5 character password, which is supposed to be compatible with non-Apple hardware.
Can anyone help me with either of these issues?
