I have a mac Mini that has a usb modem and it works great.. but i hooked up a linksys wireless to it so i could share the dial up connection with my dell laptop.
in osx i set the internet connection to sharing, but the dell doesn't see the internet...

Is there something else in osx that i need to do?

Maybe try turning the firewall off on both machines to start...

Actually, is the Dell connected to the Mini wirelessly using a computer to computer network? Or are they just both on the same wireless network created by the linksys thing? What is the linksys, a wirelss basestation, or a wireless usb card thingy?

the mini is hardwired to the linksys router and the dell is wirelessly connected to the linksys, I'll try turning off the firewalls

i tried the turning off the firewalls and that still didnt work, and now for some reason the mac wont stay dialed out, i get about an hour and then it hangs up, and when i try to redial it says no dial tone, and i have to reboot it to get it the see the dial tone again... is there a setting i can try? or is my modem taken a dump on me?
