Home from college for Thanksgiving I found a rather annoying problem with the DSL connection at my house: it will run at full speed for an arbitrary amount of time then suddenly flatline for 15-30 seconds and then recover. In the meantime nothing is accessible, pings die and the router admin pages don't come up. We have a 2wire modem hooked to a Belkin wifi router. It happens both on wireless and on ethernet, it happens whether the router is used as an access point and the modem runs DHCP and when the modem is bridged and the router runs DHCP. I've also found that I can get the problem to show up by flood pinging the modem. All of the computers in the house do it....I've tried almost every potential weak link. Anyone else ever have this?
Its been a mystery for almost a week now and all I've been able to find on Google has been other people with the same problem and limited answers.
