Good morning all. I am upgrading my phone very soon. I think I have decided on the HTC Incredible (I have to stay with Verizon for various reasons), and I am wondering if you all are able to do internet tethering with your smart phones. If so, how do you make it happen?

I am hoping to do it by using the phone's connection to verizon's 3G network. Is this an option?

I use Proxoid. It communicates with the phone in debug mode, and you run the Android debugger on your computer as an internet connection. It uses 3G and works very well, except for the fact that I can't figure out how to share the tethered connection over the MBP's wifi to other computers. It is good for just one user, though.

Also, the phone has to be connected by USB, but that's OK since it charges it too.

Oh, don't forget to turn off user agent hiding (or whatever it's called) if you use Proxoid, otherwise most websites won't work right. It's an option in Proxoid.

I just got my MBP yesterday and used it via PDAnet with my Samsung Moment. It works perfectly and it really easy to setup.

I tether using my iPhone (that still has 3.0 OS) every day.

Im still waiting on a nasty letter from ATT, but they can bite me as they advertised the 3 GS as a tethering devise over a year ago.
