I have a question about macs and video streaming. Some websites I go to, mostly news sites, have video news that will sometimes show Windos media player. If I go to those sites, what do I do if they don't have a Quicktime option, just the WMP option.... Am I out of luck?

No it's a Mac you have lots, but my fav so far is VLC.

You can install the wm plugin yourself, its called flip4mac. The internet is crappy without it. Because, when you stream (you know what)
it seems to always be in windows media format.
