hey everyone im having this *tiny* problem:

a while back, software update informed me that i need to install some general Mac OS X update. did that. kind of. the problem is that i closed the lid, opened it up like 2 minutes later - the screen was blank, tried pressing the power button a few times - nothing. pressing any key would give that "no can't do, sir" system sound. then the sound just kept on going, like it was in a loop or something.

i shut the macbook the hard way - the 3 second-power-button way.

next boot was weird (i was expecting that..), the system would boot up and reboot itself (took way longer than a normal boot too)

now, im not sure if the update was successful or not - the update does NOT show up in the update log/history and neither does it show up when i run 'check for updates'

apparently something, somewhere got a bit messed up, id really like to make sure its all clean.

what should i do?

thanks in advance for any input!
