I sometimes do high intensity interval training (HIIT) while watching TV or movies on my mac. I am looking for a mac program that can give me audio time cues for the exercise intervals. There are many programs that do this on IOS, but I can't find one that runs on mac os.

Just search for tabata in the app store and you'll see a bunch of them.

When I search for tabata in the mac app store, I only find an app called WorkoutTimer. This app has a significant flaw in that you cannot customize the sounds for work and rest periods. Both are signaled by a beep. This makes it difficult to keep track of what comes next if you miss a signal and you want to rely on audio only to tell you when it is time to work or rest.

Any other suggestions for a mac os interval training timer?
