Hello,

My powerbook won't connect to my router and i'm not sure why. It was working fine before, but I reinstalled leopard and now it won't work.

airport states it is connected (showing full bars) but won't actually connect to the internet, can someone help me out please?

DNS Settings? Router IP address setting in Advanced settings in the network adapter settings?

i did "using DHCP" and have tried the renew DHCP lease

but i'm not exactly sure what your questions mean.. i'm by no means a expert on this or even contain a little info.

when i do "renew DHCP" it now takes me to configure ipv4 automatically.

EDIT: Under the networks tab, it says "Airport has a self-assigned self IP address and may not be able to connect to the internet"

nvm, i guess i needed to create a new location.

i guess it still doesn't work after i tried to log in again today.

again, under system pref. it states "airport has a self-assigned ip" i am assuming this is the problem, but i dont know how to fix it.

You might try turning everything off including all your network gear.

Then turn on the modem and router.

Then wait for about 1 minute or so.

Then turn on your PowerBook.
