I thought this was a joke at first, but it's definitely for real. Aside from the ridiculous name and the fact that it's an obvious iMac ripoff, this fugly thing actually costs $200 more than the 17" iMac G5 with a SuperDrive. Take a gander if you dare...

Sorry, it just showed up today on MacCentral and I know I hadn't seen it before either. Must have missed the previous thread.

What a wonderful scene. I'm sure Norman Rockwell would be proud of this picture.

Too bad this person did not get an iMac G5...he could've gotten more chicks in his room.

Do people really think kids like stuff to be bufugly? Honestly people its called focus groups, look into it!

They claimed that they used a group of kids to narrow down the design to the one that they liked the best... I hate to think of how fugly the rest of the designs must have been for them to pick this one

I actually saw and played with two versions of this at the Digital Life expo and I must say that I am impressed by some of the things it does. It's only downfall is that it is on the tad expensive side and parents will probably by their teen's something cheaper. This runs on top of Windows XP and has a pretty nice interface. The keyboard has tons of hot keys with pictures...Like Papa John's, Google, eBay, etc. The keyboard is wireless, as is the mouse, but the keyboard also had a built in trackpad on it. In the end I thought "Great concept, great market, bad way of going at it."

That thing's a big pile of crap. I especially like how they don't show a good, clear picture of the computer because they know it turned out so ugly... According to the company web site, the computer was "inspired" when the designer's son asked him for an imac...

If i asked my parents for an iMac and got one of these pieces of crap, I'd divorce them.

They hid the specs here. It's got a 1.5 GHz Pentium M processor inside.
yup, 1.5ghz pentium m is the "latest intel processor"...i bet the "nodebook coming soon" has a desktop P4 in it:rolleyes: they're trying way too hard to rip off apple but not succeeding...does the nodebook not closely resemble a tibook?

So they released a copy of the iMac G5 a few weeks before the G5 was revealed? That a pretty neat trick.
