Xylar is a fresh take on system monitoring, designed with a sleek, futuristic look inspired by sci-fi interfaces. Instead of crowding the menu bar, it uses a sidebar that smoothly slides in when your cursor hits the screen edge, giving quick access to key system stats.

Key Features:

  • Unique Design: Inspired by advanced spacecraft aesthetics with clean lines and smooth animations.
  • Edge-Triggered Sidebar: Shows only when needed, keeping your workspace clutter-free.
  • Comprehensive Monitoring: CPU, RAM, GPU, storage, network, and battery stats with interactive, easy-to-read graphs.
  • Optimized Performance: Lightweight and efficient to minimize resource use.

Xylar is available now on the Mac App Store.

Those 4 screenshots on that page look weird.
They all 4 look to be the same image?
I don't see a "system monitoring tool" in them, just a background image?

So now i have no idea what your software does.

Yeah, OP chose the background image poorly -- the app's slide-in interface just sort of blends in and isn't really visible.

OP, you should re-create your screenshots with a background that lets your app's interface pop for viewers.

Change your screenshots, and use a plain colour on the background. This is a very poor first impression, and few people will open £9.99 on your software if they can barely determine what it does.

Yes this is much more helpful than the current screenshots on the App store.

How does the app work for people who keep their Dock on the side of the screen? Also can you select whether the left or right side of the screen?
  • Dock/Stage Manager: Xylar currently stays on top of both when they’re on the left side. But since the sidebar is slim and designed to stay out of the way, you can still access the Dock or Stage Manager relatively easily.
  • Edge behavior: Xylar either appears when you move your cursor to the edge, or you can set it to be always visible.
  • Edge support: Right now it only supports the left side of the screen.

People want to see the app in action on a desktop. When we suggested a sold colour for the background we meant a solid colour as the wallpaper. What you've done now is made it look really boring and bland.

Just create a new user on your Mac, set the wallpaper to a nice solid colour, have minimal items in the Dock, show the Dock and menu bar on-screen, then activate your app on the side of the screen.

Also, the app has settings, show us a screenshot of the Settings window so we can see how customisable it is.

#1 problem is not showing clear info without having to roll the mouse over something. #2 problem is taking up extra screen real estate when the menu bar already has empty space. #3 problem is just not showing much info. Look at how iStatMenus does it, and don't try to do it differently. Otherwise your utility is no competition to the top dog.
