I have received an 'Invalid Checksum' error multiple times after downloading files on my new 13" Macbook Pro. I have tried using different browsers (Firefox and Safari). I'll download the file and then click on it and it will mount and start to validate but then towards the end of validation throw the 'Invalid Checksum' error. I have received this message with multiple files multiple times. Any guesses as to what is causing this to happen?

is is the same file agin and again? if not you might have bad ram, bad checksum means the file did not come out as it was intended to, meaning it's corrupt in some capacity. Try creating a new user account and seeing if the problems presis (just a test account) but you might have bad ram.

I will give that a shot. I have had some downloads work but maybe as many (if not more) that gave me the 'invalid checksum' error. Is there any definite way to check and make sure the ram isn't bad?

I do notice it happens often when I let it download while plugged in and walk away. I've read other places that it may have something to do with it dropping internet connection during the download. Is this possibly causing the problem? I suppose there's an easy check for that (download while doing other things and keep the computer on the whole time).

Again, any ideas are greatly appreciated!
