Invalid Directory Item Count

I was verifying my hard drive the other day, and I got the message "Invalid directory item count (It should be 32 instead of 31)"
I tried fsck, and it fixed it, but when I verified again, it still had the same problem. I also can't seem to run the Mac install disk, but I don't know if the problem is related.
