Hello, I'm a fairly new mac user. I recently bought a backup drive and started using time machine. After backing up my macbook pro, I decided to try finally installing Yosemite. When the installation was finished, my mac was rebooting repetitively. I got scared and restored from my new backup drive (Seagate slim 1TB) and everything appeared to be ok. But then my Seagate started saying that it was failing upon testing it; and sometimes after testing it my mac would reboot again. On disk utility though, it says it's okay but there are error messages saying something about an invalid disk. Likewise, when I go on disk utility and verify my mac drive, I get a message saying it's okay, except that there's a red error in the readout saying, "Invalid Disk Label @ 749279834112: cksum mismatch" (same message on seagate readout)
I've read on other threads that this has to do with Yosemite, but I thought that restoring from a time when I hadn't had the update yet would mean there are no traces of Yosemite on my mac now. What can I try to get rid of these errors? ): Any help would be very appreciated! I'm not extremely tech savvy, so layman's speech would be helpful.
