Invalid Map Node

When I go to disk utilities and use verify disk an error pops up saying

Error: Filesystem verify or repair failed

and above that in red it says Invalid Map Node

it also wont let me repair disk, the button is faded out. I just got my macbook so some help would be appreciated =D

I believe you have to reboot and startup from your OS X CD and run the disk utility program from the CD to repair your disk.

Put your OS X CD in your MacBook and reboot while pressing "c" on your keyboard. This will boot from your OS X CD and then you can run the disk utility program from menu bar. Once in the disk utility program, select your hard drive and then the repair disk button should be available.
