Hey guys,

I'm having a weird issue with my MBP Pre-Unibody. When the computer has been sitting with the LCD closed and I power it on, the backlight will work fine for about 5-10 minutes. However, once this time passes, it will randomly shut off and the only resolution will be to move the screen back and forth. Once I find a a sweet spot, the light will come back on.

It seems that I have to move the screen closer towards me to get the light to stay on or else the light will just turn back off after X seconds. Once the screen is more closed than open (if that makes sense), the light will continue to stay on.

I want to say that it is the cable but I want a second opinion before I purchase it. If it was the inverter board, wouldn't the backlight just remain off? Also, when I move the screen back and forth, the backlight flickers like crazy until I find "the" spot.

Thanks for any help!
