Invisible Shield on black or white iPod?

For anyone who has a new video iPod and has purchased an invisible shield for it...I'm trying to decide b/w the black or white ipod. Without the shield I know the black will make the scratches and such more obvious than the white will. But i'm wondering with a shield if the black is really protected from showing scratches, fingerprints, etc. I prefer the looks of the black ipod, and plan on buying an invisible shield to protect it. I'm just wondering if it would be a better idea to buy a white one in order to better hide the defects that may occur. Any thoughts???
