Zagg, bestskinever, invisible shield and the like have basically all the same instructions for wet application.

Power off, apply wet, then leave off for 12 hours/overnight. Is this still necessary now that newer iPhones are IP67 and more proof?

I would still switch off when applying, bit can you power on after applying and use straight away?
 
As far as I know, the problem was never that the liquid would affect the phone, but the skins need time to dry and cure before use or else they will peel up and get dirty.

Ah I see thanks. Just I was going to apply tonight, but need it on for alarm and will be charged over night as well, wirelessly.
