I haven't tracked down anyone else with this mystery, but it is a bit odd to explain. If anyone can shed some light, most appreciated!
After a 'transfer of purchases' from my iPod Touch 5G on iTunes, almost all of the songs, videos, playlists and other media disappeared from the iTunes view of my 'Pod. I thought I may have accidentally triggered some choose-your-content Syncing, but when I look on the iPod itself, the songs and everything are still there and still play.
If I copy something onto the iPod with iTunes like this, it shows up on both the iPod itself and in the iTunes view of the Pod. It even follows any appropriate Smart Playlist directions still on the iPod.
I have reloaded and reset iTunes, restarted and reset the Pod (and restored from earlier backups). The one thing I haven't tried is the 'full restore', because I'm loath to lose all my media and start over, not to mention that I don't know if it will work.
Thank you in advance if anyone can illuminate or even solve the matter.
