I am buying a house an want to go full HomeKit. As it stands now I am renting with my girlfriend and we have a few different HomeKit accessories: lights, outlets, HomePods, Sonos and motion sensors. Right now we are using both HomeKit and Alexa to control things. I would like to completely phase out Alexa and stick with Siri for everything smart home wise so I am not managing two different ecosystems. Over time I am looking to go pretty deep into the smart home jungle, locks, fans, garage doors, etc.

Now the issue I have is that my girlfriend is one of those pesky Android users and there is nothing that will change her mind. Our bedroom is the main area of concern. I have a Sonos Beam soundbar for the Apple TV so adding in a HomePod is a bit redundant. (Hey Apple a HomePod mini for $50ish would be FANTASTIC). My workaround is to have her use my old iPhone 5 which supports HomeKit and "Hey Siri". I restored the iPhone and set it up as a new device and created her an Apple ID at that time.

Whenever I go in to try to invite her to the "Home" it tells me... "Invitation Failed. Could not invite example@icloud.com because it is not registered with iCloud." As far as I can tell everything is setup correctly. I am able to sign into iCloud.com, her phone is able to be used in the App Store and iTunes Store.

Any ideas what it could be?
