I just ordered this... http://www.amazon.com/Iomega-33749-Silver-FireWire-Portable/dp/B000SAF5U2

Was it a good decision? I will be carrying it around with my macbook periodically to travel back and forth between home and school and will be using it exclusively to hold my itunes library... my macbook's internal hard drive is only 60 gb and running out of space and I want to move all my music to the external drive. Is this is a good idea? I mean it will be used a lot everyday since I listen to music all the time and I tend to change tracks a lot... if I do it too much will it decrease the life of the HD?

Also, to format it, since it comes as FAT32, do I just use disk utility and change it to HFS or whatever?

Thanks...

Yep i did exactly the same with my powerbook.... I had the itunes librabry on the iomega fw harddisk and it worked like a charm. gets its power through the firewire so its all you need... was very happy with it before i moved to a bigger hard disk
