Might some chap or chapette know how ion-strengthened glass compares with sapphire or the glass in older iPhones? Details (or musings) re strength, color/clarity, shatter, flex/bend, pros & cons of each, etc. are all welcome as my knowledge of such is zero.
Also, are the ions topically applied or embedded? (I'm wondering if the ions can wear off or somehow react with a screen protecter.)
Alas, I am confused. I just don't understand how ions are added to the mix (if that's what is done). Clearly, there is not a tech with a bag of ions to blend with the sand...
