iOS 10.1 iPad Air airplay with full screen mode and safari

AirPlay works finally but when you go to full screen mode with safari (viewing mobile format) it stops and prompts on the tv "an error occurred loading this content"

Is this a design limitation? It's sort of annoying having the image displayed as partial on the tv when not in full screen mode on the iPad.
