Ok so when I was on ios9 everything worked well, then I upgraded to 10 and noticed if I go into my calendar and try to look at an event back to 2013 my calendar will only show me 2015-current? I thought I was the only one seeing this but others I talk to also express frustration.
It is isolated to my phone as my 2015 MacBook and iPad Air 2 do not limit me to 2015-current I can see 2013 items?
The other thing that has annoyed me since 10 is that when I open the calendar, and select say Tomorrow, and try to enter a calendar appointment in tomorrow, I notice it changes the date to another date all on its own, not sure why and guy at Apple has no clue. This weekend I am going to try to setup my phone as new, and only use my iCloud account and see if that makes a difference, if not, I have to figure out what the issue is, but it is very annoying, and frustrating.
