iOS 10/iTunes Connection Issue

Today I updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 10 GM and now my phone will not connect to iTunes (running 12.2.2 on a Mac). I get an error saying that iTunes is getting an invalid response from my device and when the "trust/don't trust" buttons come up on the phone nothing happens when I click "trust." That being said, I can't restore my phone to the backup I did because I can't get it to connect to iTunes. Is anyone else running into this issue and/or have a fix?
