iOS 10 Safety

I would really appreciate if anyone could tell me how safe it is to download and install iOS 10 on the iPhone via wifi, if the wifi does not belong to me?( places such as hosts of Bed and Breakfast service)

Especially in terms of privacy of personal data or possibility of catching malware/ being hacked.

It's a connection to Apple servers and the device can only install things that are specifically signed for it by Apple. So the chances of anything like that are rather low (assuming that when you are configuring some things after installation you don't use that WiFi connection).
