I went ahead and updated my ancient iPhone 6 with it. No problems so far. About the only thing I noticed was app's were downloading faster from the app store afterwards. Don't know if that was directly due to that update though.
But I haven't noticed any glitches with it. And yeah, I am sure 99% of that update (or even more) was for the iPhone X users.
