iOS 11 & Google Drive

I have a .RTF file uploaded to my Google Drive.

It opens fine on my iMac, MBP & iPhone 6 on iOS 10.

When I try to open the .RTF file on my iPhone 8+ with iOS11 It's blank and I get an error saying 'Problem with file'.

It seems to be an issue with ALL .RTF files as multiple files just say 'Problem with file'.

.PDF files open fine.
.xlsx files open fine.

Is this a thing or is my phone Drive app broken?
