Every time my iPhone XR is connected to my car’s Bluetooth system the phone’s speakers are automatically muted even though there is no audio activity such as a phone call, or music playing through the phone.
Is there a way to override this auto muting without turning Bluetooth off, so I can hear notification sounds and alerts through the iPhone’s speakers? The only way I can currently hear phone alerts is when I activate it through the Media setting on the car’s head unit (2017 Hyundai Santa Fe), this works well when streaming music through the phone, and during phone calls. But when I’m listening to radio or Sirius XM, the iPhone remains muted.
I have used several Android phones with this car audio system and haven’t had this muting problem, even while connected, the phones always sounded alerts independently through the phone speakers.
