Hi

I have I friends iPhone 6S plus he’s asked me to repair and it has a strange issue, the screen orientation only works if I reboot the phone while the phone remains on or brought out of standby after a short time.

I have replaced the screen because he cracked his with a new one but have tried the old one back in and the issue still persists, the only other thing is the ios updated from 13.5 to 13.5.1.

I want to narrow down the issue before DFU the phone as hes got lots of stuff on his phone, I have tried resetting settings which again the orientation did work for a bit but soon as I leave it in standby for a period and come back it dont work again!

so basically everytime I want to use screen orientation I have to reboot the phone a few times will it works and use it in that perio, as soon as it’s been in standby over a minute the orientation no longer works!

any ideas guys ?
it’s baffling me!

cheers for the help in advance and sorry for the long post, just eager to get this phone back to my friend
Carl
