Hi all,
I have screen time activated for my kids since iOS 12 and it works pretty fine.
Months ago I set up screen time for myself in order to control myself a little. In the end I deactivated screen time (or so I thought) because it bugged it me too much.
A few weeks ago I played around with screen time settings for my kids, when for some reasons I consciously saw for the first time "share across devices".
Being the dumb idiot that I am, I decided to toggle that switch, instead of either looking for info on the consequences or at least thinking about it.
Turns out, it activated screen time for me on all my devices. Duh.
It didn't even ask me for my passcode (which I don't remember, as I was sure, screen time for me was deactivated).
So, now I am stuck with 2 hrs screen time per day on my iPhone.
And, as I am fiddling around with Catalina beta, also on my Macbook.
Effing A.
I think I googled around and tried everything there is, to no avail:
- Pinfinder - does not work with iOS13 (wait a minute: does screen time work across iOS12 and iOS 13? - Could the solution be to setup an iOS 12 device, run Pinfinder, and find out the PIN?)
- reset iPhone and restore from backup: no dice
- reset iPhone and set up as new device: as soon as I enter my apple ID, screen time applies -> in that regard it works really well. ;-)

(aside from the above, i.e. Pinfinder on iOS 12, there seems to be no way forward, unless you guys/gals have another idea)

I cannot imagine that Apple would release such a potent feature without a kill switch, for those dumb users, of who I obviously am one ;-)

Any help much appreciated,
thanks in advance
Matt
