I’ve just noticed today while working from home that listening to Apple Music, streaming curated content listening externally on my HomePod something really odd. When my iPad Pro is locked and music is paused from tapping on the HomePod, after a minute if I unlock the iPad Pro Apple Music app no longer shows the song, nor the future songs playable.

Method.
Swipe from signal and battery on top right hand of screen on iPad Pro.
Select other sources, HomePod.
Select your choice of music and stream and play.
Minimize or not minimize the Music iOS app, doesn’t matter.
Lock your iPad Pro,
Pause the music on the HomePod (could be 10 sec or 7mins), doesn’t matter.
now Unlock and the Music app is not running in the background. If you launch the Music App its NOT the same music you’ve been playing ONLY what you last played, and paused, using the app directly.

You have to swipe from control centre again to then access the HomePod as sound output to play the track again. Very annoying. When I had Apple Watch S4 back in January it was much easier cause I didn’t have to goto the HomePod as the output source to being playing the song again. I have not tried on iPhone as I’m at 600MB on this 32GB OG SE so cannot risk it crashing right now.
