ios 14.8 news app slow to load

Just did full restore from 13.7 to 14.8 on 6s plus, News app is slow to load in each time I open it.

If I delete the news app and reinstall will all my saved items be lost?

OK seems a somewhat better now but still is a a lot slower at loading news than 13.7

Maybe this is expected behaviour on a 6s plus?

I reset all settings and did a 14.8 back up and complete restore.

I think the original restore from back up I did from 13.7 to 14.8 may have carried over some issues.
