comparison between iOS 13 and iOS 14 screenshots

first one is iOS 13 and second is iOS 14, it's just so tiny....any idea if there's a way to resize it?

What is your Display Zoom setting set to?

View attachment 956034

Actually, this is what i thought about first....but guess what? Zoom display option is missing on both iOS 13 and 14 on my two SEs...i'm not sure if it was like that since iOS 13 was released but i remember i changed it a couple of years ago, but now i can't find that option in either iOS 13 or iOS 14 on first generation SE...

It's not practical at all, the layout shouldn't be crammed like that...

I hadn’t noticed that but probably am not paying enough attention to it. iOS 14 seems totally fine on my air 2 and se 1 so far. Waaaaaaaay less buggy on my air 2 than 13 started out as (they slowly pounded it back in to shape over a series of updates over months, and it wasn’t unusable or anything).

I don’t think my se is changed as far as zoom, my air 2 is set to have larger icons or whatever.

It's basically a UI design change in iOS 14 it seems.

I don't believe the original SE has different views (like zoomed) given that it has a smaller screen.

I hope they will change it with the next update, no need for apps to be crammed like that, especially given Covid-19 they should keep a distance ;)

Even worse, the apps icons are smaller on iOS 14......

I hadn’t noticed thstfrom those pictures that got posted. The way it uses less of the screen to display the folder seems pointless though, like the screen it’s no longer using isn’t being used for anything else, so what’s the point? At any rate, it’s still been just fine on my SE, for me.

I have an iPhone SE first gen and can confirm, the layout looks broken and terrible.
When I first saw it I was like how the hell did that get thru quality control.
I'm happy on iOS 13 on my main device! The first release is often a dumpster fire, especially when they add a lot of things, the bigger the change the longer it takes to iron it all out.

I'm glad someone pointed these problems out, i'm holding off on updating my wife's 1st generation SE.

What in particular do you find to be broken and terrible in terms of the layout?

I'm also still using the SE (1. Gen) as my daily driver. Haven't had any issues yet with iOS 14.0.1 usability wise.
Didn't even notice the change in icon space etc.

That’s a terrible idea, as now the device can be taken over. Even if the release was bad, which it’s not, you’d still have no reasonable choice but to update immediately.

you’re at risk doing that as you don’t have security updates. You’re asking to get your device taken over.

iOS 14 is just bad in general.

It’s been fine from what I’ve seen, and vastly less buggy on my iPad Air 2 than iOS 13 started out. (WHY iOS 13 started out buggy on iPads I don’t even get, since it wasn’t that big an update, but regardless they got it hammered out over time, and there’s no real choose regardless, and rebooting regularly mostly kept it running fine)

Oof. That's an unfortunate side effect of the update. Apple should've been more careful and made custom accommodations for the smaller screened iPhones with iOS 14.

Taken over? Which vulnerabilities are you speaking of that ios 14 patched?

check apple’s security release page or the security press. Every release patches typically a pile of vulnerabilities, though occasionally a point release will fix just one.

He is being over dramatic, almost every release has security patches, not updating in theory makes your device more sensitive, still its unlikely you'll get hacked.

not remotely “over dramatic”. Geez.
