Apple today announced that iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, watchOS 8.1, tvOS 15.1, and macOS Monterey will all be released as free software updates next week. Apple revealed this timing in a press release for the third-generation AirPods.

Apple has since updated its website to confirm that macOS Monterey will be released on Monday, October 25, following over four months of beta testing.

macOS Monterey‌ will enable Universal Control, allowing for a single mouse, trackpad, and keyboard to be used across multiple Mac or iPad devices, but the feature is not coming until later this fall, according to Apple. Other new features include AirPlay to Mac, a Safari redesign with new features, a Shortcuts app, spatial audio in FaceTime, and a SharePlay function that lets Apple users watch TV, listen to music, and share their screens with one another.

I really hope they fix that Calendar bug (if you have subscribed calendar) or else there will be a lot of unhappy folks with iOS 15.1 (Calendar crawls to a stop basically), The latest Beta - still broken...

OMG! Calendar app has been unusable!

AirPods require iOS 15.1? What about all the people who like to wait for a few point releases of a new iOS before updating? And what about all the folks who will stay on iOS 14 as it will also be supported alongside iOS 15?

Is anyone finding Monterey better than big sur?
I've been using Monterey since the Beta 1 on my M1 Air, and it has been very smooth.

Compared to Big Sur on my work issued MacBook Pro (2013), it no better or worse when it comes to bugs and errors, but Monterey feels a bit better (probably both because it is newer, and also because the M1 Air is a very capable little machine).

I bet the GM will be out today.
The new MBP looks very interesting. The top end cost is about $800 less than what I paid last December for the 16 inch Pro top end Intel model. Will be interesting to see how apps adapt to the notch; currently use a driver to crop the display more to match my Razer Blade Pro 2017 High Sierra machine.

macOS 12.0.1 RC & iOS 15.1 RC released for both developers and public. Updating now ;)

Agree. I have zero issues. I love the MBA M1. Powerful, cool, and smooth.
