iOS 16.4: notification announcements not working anymore?

Noticed today after the release of iOS 16.4 (or maybe watchOS 9.4): notifications are not announced anymore on my AirPods Pro 2.
Toggled announcements in control center and also on notifications but no effect.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Same problem here. However I get call notifications form apps

Intel Unison intercepts notifications from the iphone and transfers them to the PC (which also allows text messaging.) Mine has stopped working today after I updated so I wonder if it is related to the notifications problem

Strange. It is working again. Seems Apple did something on their servers.
